Membership

The more members Disability Justice Australia has, the more impact we have when negotiating for improvements for people with disabilities. You can add your strength to our voice by joining DJA today — and most members are entitled to vote in the election of Board of Directors positions and general votes when DJA adds or changes policies.

Join us

Membership of DJA is completely free and the application process is simple. Just click on the button below to get started with the online application form. In most cases, filling in the form is simple and will take only a few minutes and we understand that many potential members will need help filling in the online form.

Some information (like your name, postal address and next of kin – for us to contact in an emergency if you are attending a DJA function or event) is essential but you can choose whether or not to give us more information about yourself so we can invite you to appropriate social events.

Renew your membership

Membership of DJA is valid for two years, after which DJA will contact you (by your preferred form of contact) to renew your membership.

Renewal of membership is now quick and easy — just click on the link in your renewal email and press submit. That’s it – no long forms to submit! Within a few minutes, we will send you an email confirming that you membership has been renewed and advising you of your new membership expiry date.

if you do not have an email address registered with DJA

Not all our members register their email address with DJA. If that is the case for you then instead of receiving a renewal email we will notify you by post that your membership is expiring and provide you with the link to the renewal form. You can access the renewal form by pressing the button below

When completing the renewal form by hand, you will need your membership number and your expiry date. You can renew your membership automatically up to 2 months before your membership is due to expire and for one month after your membership has lapsed. Requesting membership renewal outside of this window of opportunity requires manual processing by a member of staff, which takes a little time.
